This policy explains what information GetSiteTape ("we", "us") collects when you visit getsitetape.com or use the GetSiteTape service, and how we use it.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address and password (stored hashed) when you create an account.
- Website information: the sites you add and their settings.
- Usage and advertising data: when you visit our website, we and our advertising partners (such as Meta and Google) may use cookies and pixels to measure ad performance.
2. Session recordings on our customers' websites
When a customer installs GetSiteTape on their website, we process recordings of visitor interactions (page structure, clicks, scrolls, console messages and network timing metadata) on that customer's behalf. Passwords are always masked in the visitor's browser and are never recorded. Other form fields are recorded unless our customer chooses to mask them, and customers can exclude any element from recordings. Secrets in page addresses (such as reset tokens) are removed before sending. The contents of network requests and responses are not captured unless our customer switches that option on, in which case values under names that look secret (such as passwords, tokens and card numbers) are replaced before they leave the browser. The tracker does not use cookies to identify visitors; it keeps a random visitor ID in the browser's local storage so repeat visits can be linked.
Our customers are responsible for telling their own visitors about session recording and for obtaining consent where the law requires it.
3. How we use information
- To provide, secure and improve the service

- To measure and improve our advertising
4. Retention
Recordings are kept for the storage period of our customer's plan and then deleted automatically. Account data is kept while your account is active.
